Yo!

Yonatan Rozin is a New York City-based musician and interactive technologist. As a classically-trained percussionist and composer, Yonatan has performed in venues including The Kennedy Center, the Jazz Standard and Carnegie Hall, and has had premieres of original works at venues including the Borishnikov Arts Center, the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center and the Peabody Conservatory. As a creative technologist and relentlessly curious pattern-based thinker, Yonatan’s projects often create relationships between data and sound and explore methods of generating and manipulating them.

Yonatan’s work on the bespoke interactive instrument for Ielele, an upcoming experimental theater work by multimedia playwright Kat Mustatea utilizing motion-reactive synthesized speech, was a finalist in the Guthman musical instrument competition. Other upcoming projects include Sonic Abstractions, an experimental interface/instrument that synthesizes noise from physical shape data and vice-versa; and the interactive electronics for an upcoming work by composer Tamar Muskal for pianist Anthony de Mare.

Yonatan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Professional Studies from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), where he recently completed a 1-year post-doc research residency and now serves as an adjunct instructor.

Yonatan is an avid collaborator and problem solver. If you have a creative problem, a question, a proposal or anything else, please reach out!
